Meet Jo Hendry-Prior

CO-FOUNDER

I firmly believe that exploring the world is the ultimate gift. Travelling to different destinations offers us a fresh perspective on life. Living in an entirely different environment, even if just for a while, allows us to step out of our routine lives, which often pass by in a blur. Such escapes enable us to forge new connections, savour new cuisines, wander down unfamiliar streets or pristine beaches, admire diverse art and architecture, and ultimately discover a new facet of ourselves..

After dedicating several years to a career in finance, I seized the opportunity to transform my passion for travel into my profession. When planning trips for my clients, my foremost priority is truly understanding their desires and preferences. What is one traveller’s dream maybe another’s nightmare. I strive to discern their core desires and what will genuinely excite them. Given that many of my clients have limited days away from their jobs and responsibilities, I meticulously plan every detail, considering how to get the most out of every day - when they might need downtime, the best times to visit specific locations, minimising travel durations, and ensuring clients have access to the finest local experts during their adventure.

3 Questions With Jo:

  • My profound love for travel and curiosity about diverse cultures have been constants in my life. From a young age, I eagerly embraced the chance to explore new locales, always eager to immerse myself in local customs, traditions and cuisines. I travelled regularly with my family and, as soon as I had the means, I embarked on adventures with friends, always trying my hand at new skills such as scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, taking polo lessons in Buenos Aires, sailing in the Caribbean and surfing in Byron Bay. As an enthusiast of local food and wine, I love uncovering the world's most delicious destinations and best wineries. I'm always on the lookout for hidden gems known only to locals and fascinated by different cultures - my ever-expanding bucket list is busting with new ideas and destinations.

  • If money were no obstacle, where would I go? I have a tie between two dream destinations—one on water and the other in the mountains: Telluride for skiing and Raja Ampat for yachting. Sailing excursions are among my favorite adventures because they offer moments of absolute serenity and the chance to disconnect entirely, waking with the sun and exploring untouched corners of the world. A few years ago, my husband and I sailed around the BVIs, waking up to breathtaking vistas, sailing to picturesque spots for lunch, and then partying the night away with rum cocktails in Caribbean bars. It remains one of our most cherished experiences, and we have since earned our Day Skipper qualification. However, I wouldn't recommend letting me captain a yacht!

  • Our vast network of experts worldwide is an invaluable resource. I relish conversing with experts from diverse corners of the globe, whether it's morning discussions about helicopter trips over Milford Sound in New Zealand or afternoon conversations about horseback safaris in Africa. These exchanges enable me to compile the ultimate itineraries for my clients, ensuring their travels are nothing short of extraordinary.
